NIST to Fund Online Credentials Pilots

National Institute of Standards and Technology proposes to award grants of up to $4 million to fund pilot projects. Pilot projects are part of National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace [see Trusted Internet Initiative Advances] NSTIC is a government initiative to work collaboratively with the private sector, advocacy groups, public-sector agencies and others to improve the privacy, security and convenience of online transactions. NIST says it anticipates making multiple awards in the range of some $1.25 million to $2 million a year, per project.”]
