National Institute of Standards and Technology issues new guidance on cryptographic algorithms and key lengths. SP 800-131A: Transitions: Recommendation for Transitioning the Use of Cryptographic Algorithms and Key Lengths provides an approach for transitioning from the use of one algorithm or key length to another. Part 1 of SP 800.57 is being revised for consistency with the new guidance. Part 2 and 3 will soon be available for public comment on the issue, with one of them under development.”]
