Updated NIST guidance focuses on building resilient IT systems that can withstand a modern attack by limiting damage an attacker can inflict on a network or the infrastructure. Older methods of protecting networks and infrastructure, such as perimeter defenses, can no longer protect assets and data. “Cyber resiliency” is the ability to anticipate, withstand, recover from and adapt to adverse conditions, stresses, attacks or compromises on systems that use or are enabled by cyber resources,” says NIST Fellow Ron Ross. NIST is soliciting comments and feedback about an updated guidance document now through Sept. 20.”]
