NIST Cyber Security Framework proposal provides no ‘measurable cybersecurity assurance’

The Cyber Security Framework (CSF) proposed by President Barack Obama in February fails to provide an effective battle plan for defending the nation’s critical infrastructure, experts say. Critics say the proposed CSF provides no specific methodologies for securing industrial control systems. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) published the draft last week. NIST is expected to publish the final CSF in February, and more work is needed, NIST says.
