Newly-Discovered Malware Targets Unpatched MacOS Flaw

Researchers have discovered never-before-seen Mac malware samples, which they believe are being developed to target a recently-disclosed vulnerability in the MacOS operating system. The vulnerability was disclosed in May and has yet to be patched by Apple. One of the malware samples was code-signed by an Apple developer ID that has been used to sign fake malicious Flash Player files, researchers said. Apple did not respond to a request for comment from Threatpost on the new malware or the existing vulnerability.
