New Orleans’ Mission: Clean 4,000 Computers in 48 Hours

New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell says the city has been hit hard by a cyber-insurance attack. The city is fixing 450 servers and 3,500 endpoints in just 48 hours. The cost of the attack will exceed the citys $3 million cyberinsurance policy, local broadcaster WWL reports. New Zealand security vendor Emsisoft released statistics on ransomware in the U.S. this year. It counted infections at 948 government agencies, 759 health care providers and 86 universities, colleges and school districts.”]
