New cybersecurity czar faces a tough road

Many longtime members of the security community say they are encouraged by what they ve seen from Obama so far on security. But there is a growing sentiment that even Obama s support on this issue may not be enough to make a real difference any time soon. The new cybersecurity coordinator will be at least one level removed from Obama and will have dual taskmasters, reporting to both the National Security Council and the National Economic Council. The two bodies often have competing priorities, which has led to friction on the security issue in the past.
