A new variant of the Crossrider adware has been spotted that is infecting Macs in a unique way, using a configuration profile to keep its effects resident in the system. Configuration profiles provide a means for IT admins in businesses to control the behavior of their Macs. This new Crossrider variant doesnt look like much on the surface. Its yet another fake Adobe Flash Player installer, looking like the thousands of others weve seen over the years. But something interesting has happened behind the scenes.
