Brian Harrell is the assistant director for infrastructure security within the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Harrell was appointed in December 2018 to serve as the Department of Homeland Security’s assistant secretary for infrastructure protection. The agency was established at the end of 2018 to help secure the nation’s critical infrastructure from physical as well as cyber threats.
