Human error is the perceived cause for 59 percent of security incidents, according to the study. Social networking, more reliance on Internet-based applications, and hackers motivated by financial gain make security riskier today. The economic recession continues to affect the security environment, the study says, along with the rise of social networking and the growing sophistication, criminalization and organization of hackers.
