Most UK law firms arent ready for GDPR, claims report

Warwick Ashford, writing for Computer Weekly, reports that only a quarter of British law firms are ready for the EUs General Data Protection Regulation. With just over six months to go before the compliance deadline of 25 May 2018, only 25% of more than 150 legal sector IT decision-makers said their firms were GDPR ready. Despite the threat of fines of up to 20m or 4% of annual turnover for serious data protection failings under the GDPR, it remains to be seen whether anyone will actually be hit by the considerable fines being talked about, but what firm would want to take that gamble?”]
