Morrisons Not Liable for Breach Caused by Rogue Employee

Britain’s Supreme Court rules that Morrisons is not liable for a data breach caused by a rogue employee. Senior internal auditor Andrew Skelton leaked personal information for nearly 100,000 employees in 2014. Morrisons appealed the decision, but the Supreme Court ruled in Morrisons’ favor. Skekelton was sentenced to eight years in prison for the crime. The court’s unanimous ruling brings to a close the long-running case – the first in the U.K. to be filed by victims of a data-breached data breach.”]
