More Security Firms Confirm NotPetya Shoddy Code Is Making Recovery Impossible

Cyber-security firms claim NotPetya was meant for destructive purposes. Cisco Talos, F-Secure, Malwarebytes, and F-Malwarebytes have confirmed the initial findings of the malware. The malware is intentionally corrupt in a way that the Salsa key was never meant to be restored. The only component that looked sophisticated, finished, and ready to go, was the network propagation module, according to Malwarebyte. The company says it’s less and less skeptical about the possibility of a “nation state”” attack.”
