Mitsubishi Electric Blames Anti-Virus Bug for Data Breach

Mitsubishi Electric says hackers exploited a zero-day vulnerability in its anti-virus software. The Japanese multinational firm says it first detected the breach on June 28, 2019. Mitsubish Electric is one of Japans largest companies, making a broad range of products, including turbines and nuclear power and satellite equipment. The company says it started notifying breach victims via email and postal mail on Monday. A 2015 case study from 2015 says that the company used some of Trend Micro’s products.”]
