The Minecraft Movie will be coming to 3D and IMAX on May 24th 2019. The movie is being produced by Lego Movie producer Rob McElnney. Over 100 million licenses of Minecraft have been sold and over 40 million people play it per month. A movie like this could go a long way in recouping the 2.5 billion that Mojang paid when they released the game last year. I’m hoping for an animated movie, as I am not sure how well a version of Minecraft would translate.
