Millions of Facebook Records Found Unsecured on AWS

One data set contained 540 million unsecured records, UpGuard says. It’s unclear if anyone attempted to access or steal this data before it was discovered. Facebook is already facing questions about how Cambridge Analytica accessed information on tens of millions of users. Facebook says it’s against company policy for third-party developers to store any public data in a public cloud. The company that created the app is no longer in business and its website returns a 404 error, researchers found.
