Microsoft Rolls Out Patches for “Lazy FP State Restore” Bug Affecting Intel CPUs

Microsoft has released patches to fix the Lazy FP State Restore vulnerability. The bug affects all Intel Core-based microprocessors. Microsoft rolled out the patches part of its regular Patch Tuesday security updates this week. Red Hat and Microsoft are the only vendors whose OS and hypervisor software was vulnerable to the bug. The patches are available for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, and Windows Server 2012 R2, 2012, 2008 R2 and 2012 R3. When exploited, the bug can allow a malicious program to read data being used by other processes.
