Microsoft subsidiary GitHub has completed acquisition of Semmle code-analysis platform. The analysis engine, QL, simplifies the process of finding variations of the same coding mistake over large codebases, allowing faster discovery of security vulnerabilities. The product is now used by big organizations like Google, Uber, Microsoft, and NASA. GitHub plans to integrate the technology into its services and provide the 36 million developers on the platform the possibility to check their code for bugs before releasing the product.
