Massy Distribution hacked and infected with ransomware

Massy Distribution Jamaica, one of the country’s largest suppliers of consumer and pharmaceutical goods, says it was the victim of a recent cyberattack. The company is mum on whether customers’ data was impacted. Massy’s Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager Patria-Kaye Charles said the incident was discovered about two weeks ago and “has been resolved” An attack forced the company to close Massy Stores in Trinidad and Tobago on April 28. This is the second cyber-related incident to hit a member of the Massy Group this year.

Update: The day September 9, 2022, after the above media release, the hackers (the LockBit ransomware group) released the company’s data that they had stolen on the dark web for the entire internet to download. This suggests the ransom was not paid by Massy.
