More than 300,000 home and small-office routers have been compromised by hackers. Florida-based security firm Team Cymru has been tracking router takeovers since January. Hackers appear to have gained access to the routers by exploiting known flaws in the devices. The largest quantity of hacked routers were traced to Vietnam, India, Turkey, Thailand, and Columbia. Researchers have shared their findings with multiple law enforcement agencies and contacted all affected manufacturers, they say.
