Mac ‘Fruitfly’ Infections More Numerous Than Believed

At least 400 Mac computers have been infected with a variant of the “Fruitfly” Mac malware, dubbed Fruitfly B, has been around for at least five years. Patrick Wardle, a former U.S. National Security Agency researcher, says Fruitfly is a surveillance tool. He says the malware could have resumed spying on computers, stealing files and browsing around. Wardle will give a presentation on Wednesday at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, at 9 p.m. ET.”]
