London Police Busted For Windows XP Possession

London’s Metropolitan Police Service is still using 27,000 PCs that run Windows XP. The outdated operating system debuted in 2001 and Microsoft stopped supporting it in 2014. Microsoft has stopped supporting older versions of Internet Explorer, and ceased issuing updates for its anti-virus tool, IE6. The U.K. government reportedly paid 5.5 million ($7.2 million) for a one-year support contract. The Met has an extended support agreement running until April 2017 with Microsoft for all XP components.”]
