Logistics giant CMA CGM goes offline to block malware attack

CMA CGM S.A., a French maritime transport and logistics giant, today disclosed a malware attack affecting some servers on the edge of its network. The attack forced the company’s IT teams to cut Internet access to some applications to block the malware from spreading to other network devices. The company has 755 offices, 750 warehouses, and over 110,000 employees in more than 160 countries, and it operates a shipping fleet of over 480 vessels on more than 200 shipping lines. An earlier report from Lloyd’s List says that some of the French maritime carrier’s Chinese offices were allegedly hit by Ragnar Locker ransomware.
