Lenovo uses System Update to patch serious System Update security hole

Lenovo’s preinstalled Superfish preinstalled utility could be used to trick users into trusting a fake website. Lenovo’s System Update software was too liberal in how much power it put in the hands of users who werent supposed to have it. Lenovo has now been forced to fix the hole, but the company has not been able to fix it. The company has now published instructions to remove the toolkit and a removal toolkit of its own to avoid the problem. If you have a later version of System Update, you should check the number of third-party programs installed on Windows.”]
