Lawmakers move to end warrantless surveillance of US residents

The End Warrantless Surveillance of Americans Act would end a loophole in U.S. surveillance. The bill would allow the FBI to search for emails, texts and other communications collected by the National Security Agency. It would also stop the government from mandating tech companies to build back doors to their devices. The House passed the bill last week, but it was stripped out of a similar amendment to the bill by the House of Representatives. A similar amendment was approved last month but was pulled out of the House.”]
