DEF CON is held at Caesars Palace and Flamingo casinos in Las Vegas. The annual hacking convention attracts a wide range of security experts from hackers and crackers to researchers. At one point in 2018, dozens of slot machines in the Linq casino went dead simultaneously, either displaying an error message or going completely offline. This is far from the first incident to have occurred at DEF CON, with other cybercriminals and controversies showing their heads more than once. The next DEF CON takes place on August 9-12, 2019, with attendance expected at 28,000.”]
