Germany has slapped a popular in-region dating, flirting and chat service with a 20,000 fine. The fine is the country s first to be doled out under the E.U.-wide General Data Protection Regulation. The social chat service, Knuddels, saw about 808,000 email addresses and over 1.8 million passwords exposed after an attack in July. The perpetrators went on to publish the information online at Pastebin and the Mega cloud storage service in cleartext form.
