Kia Motors Hit With $20M Ransomware Attack – Report

Ransomware gang DoppelPaymer claims it has locked down Kia Motors America’s files in cyberattack. Ransom note says Kia has two to three weeks to pay up 404 Bitcoins, which is around $20 million as of this writing. The ransom demand includes a decryptor and a guarantee to not publish sensitive data bits on the gang s leak site. Kia is not disclosing details about the cause of the interruption, but Kia customers have noticed and are taking to social media to try and find answers.
