WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was taken out of the Ecuadorian embassy in London. He was convicted of skipping bail and scheduled for sentencing at a later date. The US has requested his extradition from Britain to face conspiracy charges in connection with Chelsea Manning’s 2010 classified data leak. The government of Ecuador accused Assange and others at WikiLeaks of collaborating in attempts to destabilize the government. It is generally assumed that Assange will ultimately be transferred to the US for questioning and trial. In revoking his asylum at the embassy, Ecuador also suspended Ecuadorian citizenship granted Assange under the previous administration.”]
