Jamaicans could pay less taxes with NIDS-Robert Morgan

The controversial NIDS Bill was passed into law in parliament yesterday without opposition support. Director of Communications and Public Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister, Robert Morgan, said NIDS will give the government the opportunity to plan and budget efficiently. Mr Morgan said the prime ministers office has engaged the Jamaican public through consultations. The controversial bill was passed by the Jamaicans without any opposition support in parliament. NIDS is the first time the government has been able to pass the bill into law.
