Key points:
- The 2016 survey assessed the commitment of all 193 ITU Member States to strengthen cyber security through legislation, projects and programs, capacity building and cooperation.
- According to the Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, Dr. Andrew Wheatley, while optimistic about the latest rankings and applauding the efforts of the Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT), MOCA, & Communications Forensics and Cybercrimes Unit (CFCU), much more work remains to be done.
- Andrew Wheatley added that the Government continues to improve its cyber security responsiveness and enhance its public education system through the Cyber Incident Response Team.
- Minister Wheatley also stated that there is room for capacity building and collaboration between the public and private sectors at all levels. Still, they remain committed to fulfilling all international standards and best practices.
