IT Firm Supporting Pyeongchang Olympics Reportedly Hacked Months Ago

CyberScoop reports that a wiper malware dubbed “Olympic Destroyer” is behind a series of security breaches disrupting the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The malware, dubbed Olympic Destroyer, was likely deployed on February 9th by an actor who had previously infiltrated Atos, the IT provider hosting the Games’ cloud infrastructure. Atos is investigating a potential breach with the help of McAfees Advanced Threat Research team. Russia, China, and North Korea have all been fingered publicly as culprits by a variety of sources.”]
