Irony: Skype patches Mac bug a day before being acquired by Microsoft

Microsoft announced a deal to buy Skype for $8.5 billion in cash. Microsoft will create a new business division just for Skype. A new version of Skype is now being offered to Mac users when they launch older editions of the program. The update patches a vulnerability disclosed last week by Australian researcher Gordon Maddern. Microsoft has made some big security strides itself in the last decade, and the Microsoft Security Response Center could be a great resource for Skype’s security efforts, but it’s not clear if this will affect Skype security.”]
