Iran-linked Hackers Target Trump 2020 Campaign, Microsoft says

A group called Phosphorous has been trying to access Microsoft-based email accounts of people associated with the campaign of President Trump. Microsoft researchers observed Phosphorus making more than 2,700 attempts to identify consumer email accounts belonging to specific Microsoft customers. The hackers then tried to attack 241 of those accounts, according to Microsoft. The attacks themselves were not technically sophisticated, what was significant about them is that attackers used a lot of personal information to identify targets and also to attempt their attacks.
