IoT Devices Hosted On Vulnerable Clouds In ‘Bad Neighborhoods’

OpenDNS releases new research on Internet of Things security. 23 percent of organizations surveyed still have no controls to prevent unauthorized devices from connecting to the corporate network. Samsung Smart TVs, Fitbit wearable fitness devices, webcams from Western Digital MyCloud storage devices, and Nest smart thermostats are among the most common devices they came across. Some of the infrastructure hosting IoT data remained vulnerable to high-profile, patchable vulnerabilities, including FREAK and Heartbleed. The research was conducted by OpenDns, which resolves more than 70 billion of Internet requests daily.”]
