Intel’s ‘ZombieLoad’ fixes may slow processors by 9 percent, especially in cloud environments. Vulnerabilities could be used to steal sensitive data from affected systems. Intel says disabling hyperthreading may reduce processor performance by up to 9 percent. Security experts say the patches will help prevent the vulnerabilities from being exploited, but that the only way to fully block attacks outright is to disable Hyperthreading. Android, Chrome, iOS, Linux, MacOS and Windows operating systems, among others, are potentially at risk.”]
