Active Management Technology – AMT – flaw present in the firmware running on many Intel chips since 2010 is worse than feared, security researchers warn. The flaw can be easily exploited to allow a remote attacker to take control of vulnerable systems without even having to enter a password. Intel issued an alert, warning that systems running AMT, Intel Standard Manageability or Small Business Tech firmware are at risk. Intel on May 4 released a scanning tool for the flaw, and a third-party tool can also be used to disable AMT on Windows.”]
