Identity crime victims struggling with financial emotional and physical impacts

The study covers the 36 months from 2018-2020 and explores the emotional, physical and psychological impacts of identity crime. The report shows the highest level of victims who say they have considered suicide ‘ 10 percent ‘ in the 18-year history of the report. For pre-pandemic victims, for roughly 30 percent of these individuals, this is the second identity crime committed against them. 83 percent of victims could not rent an apartment or find housing and 67 percent incurred debt to meet financial obligations.
