A lawsuit seeking class-action status filed against information services firm Experian alleges the company failed to detect a customer of its data aggregator unit was a fraudster. Hieu Minh Ngo was sentenced July 14 to 13 years in prison for selling to other cybercriminals fraudulently obtained PII. The lawsuit against Experian was filed July 17; plaintiffs’ attorneys say their PII was used to file fraudulent tax returns.
