Hundreds of Thousands of SMBGhost and BlueKeep Infected Systems Are Still Up and Running

Security researcher Jan Kopriva used a tool named Shodan to find out how many unpatched systems are still active. SMBGhost (CVE-2020-0796) is a remote code execution vulnerability in the way that the Microsoft Server Message Block 3.1.1 (SMBv3) protocol handles certain requests. While the number of compromised systems is falling, an estimated 240,000 endpoints are still running. The situation is even more dire for BlueKeep-infected machines.”]
