Human rights groups to ask Israeli court to revoke NSO Groups export license

Amnesty International plans to file a petition in Israeli court to revoke mobile spyware vendor NSO Groups export license. The company’s Pegasus surveillance software was reportedly used to target an Amnesty International researcher. The Israeli vendor says it only sells its surveillance tools to vetted government customers to fight crime and terror. NSO says it investigates any cases of misuse of its spyware and that it adheres to an ethical policy that prevents misuse of the technology. The legal motion is an attempt to halt the proliferation of the spying tools at its source, Amnesty International says.”]
