Hamamatsu eliminates malware with virtual appliances

Optical sensor maker Hamamatsu turned to cloud security provider OpenDNS for quick fix. The company had a “best in breed” firewall in place, but malware began spewing spam from its network. Within eight hours, the company had neutralized the malware and its email was no longer blacklisted. Users are integrated into the virtual appliances that can easily connect the cloud security services on its net to a customer’s net. Users can be integrated into OpenDns virtual appliances through Active Directory and their net usage monitored.”]
