Victims have been targeted in consumer goods and services, insurance, and manufacturing and distribution sectors. The threat group behind Hades has been in operation since December 2020 and has continued to target victims through May 2021, Accenture Security says. The group behind the Hades variant is also likely using Phoenix CryptoLocker in an effort to impede attack attribution, the security firm says.
