Hackers who hit Texas with ransomware attack demanded $2.5 million, got nothing

Ransomware attacks hit 22 local government organisations in Texas. Hackers demanded a cool $2.5 million for decryption keys to unlock the data. But the Texas Department of Information Resources refused to pay the ransom. Instead, they cleaned up the infections and restored data from secure backups.
