Hackers Take Down Safari, VMware and Oracle at Pwn2Own

Pwn2Own 2019 hackers poked holes in Apple Safari, Oracle VirtualBox and VMware Workstation on Wednesday. The annual hacking competition is held in tandem with the CanSecWest conference in Vancouver. The first day of the event paid out $240,000 for hacking Apple Safari with a kernel elevation. In total, day one of the two-day hacking competition in Vancouver, the event has paid out a total of $160,000, according to Zero Day Initiative. The event took place on March 20, 2019, in conjunction with the Canadian CanSecwest conference, which is also being hosted by hackers.
