Hackers leak files stolen in Pakistan’s K-Electric ransomware attack

Pakistan’s largest private power company suffered a Netwalker ransomware attack on September 7th, 2020. The attack disrupted online billing services, but not the supply of power. Ransomware operators demanded a $3,850,000 payment for a ransom. K-Electric denied that any data was stolen from the company. The data includes unaudited profit and loss statements, engineering diagrams for turbines, and pictures of customer statements. Pakistani cybersecurity firm Rewterz examined the archive contents and said it contains sensitive information.
