Hackers Hijack 1 Million China Cell Phones

More than 1 million cell phone users in China have been infected with a virus that automatically sends text messages. The attack is costing users a combined 2 million yuan ($300,000 U.S. dollars) per day. Attack mirrors the Troj/SymbSms-A malware seen earlier this year, which infects Symbian phones. By texting everyone in an infected user’s address book, the malicious code has the potential to spread exponentially. Experts expect an increase in the number of viruses that target cell phones for profit.”]
