Hackers Find Stolen NSA Exploit Useful Again, Compromise Tens of Thousands of Routers

A Microsoft exploit made public last year has been used by hackers to compromise more than 45,000 internet routers, researchers say. The attack makes use of an exploit developed for the NSA, which was stolen and released to the public by the hacking group Shadow Brokers. Attackers can be warded off by keeping router firmware updated and disabling UPnP, Akamai says. The company recommends buying a new router post-infection, but if youre cheap, merely disabling the router already infected might not do the trick.”]
