Sergey Ovsyannikov, 31, and Yevgeniy Timchenko, 32, plead guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud. The two Kazakhstan nationals helped run an online advertising fraud scheme that operated from December 2015 to October 2018. The 3ve scheme was powered by a botnet that compromised more than 1.7 million computers, prosecutors say. The FBI worked with several security firms to shut down the 3ve botnet in 2018. A third man allegedly involved in the scheme remains in federal custody and that case is ongoing.”]
