Government Critic Gets White House Role

Ed Felten is the White House’s new deputy chief technology officer. Felten, a computer science and public affairs professor at Princeton University, will work out of the Office of Science and Technology Policy. He’s been outspoken about the NSA, the FBI and cybersecurity experts in the U.S. have been critical of the government in recent years. He also took aim at Michael Daniel, the president’s cybersecurity czar, who started a brouhaha on social media over the qualifications of Michael Daniel.”]
